Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the Six Thinking Hats strategy in developing critical thinking skills among primary school students in mathematics. This strategy represents one of the modern teaching approaches that seeks to organize and direct the thinking process systematically, thereby fostering deeper conceptual understanding. The research focuses on the role of this strategy in enhancing students’ abilities in analysis, comparison, reasoning, and problem-solving, in addition to raising their awareness of the thinking process itself.

The study employed a theoretical analytical approach based on reviewing previous research and discussing the theoretical framework that supports the application of the Six Thinking Hats strategy in primary education. Theoretical findings indicate that using this strategy contributes to building an interactive classroom environment that improves academic achievement and develops critical thinking skills. Moreover, it increases students’ motivation towards learning mathematics as a core subject that requires higher-order cognitive skills.
